Hi guys, I'm Ronnie from Klang... Join this club since 2009, but until today haven't got a BMW yet... Now there's 2 choices for me, I saw one BMW E90 320i LCI white color selling at RM179,800 year 2009 & one BMW E60 523i Bronze color selling at RM155,000 year 2005, both are used car from local AB. Was thinking which one to get, and worried that later when i resell value will drop kao kao next time. Pls give me some advised guys !! :motz::motz:

Hi Ronnie,

Welcome to our forum and believe you must have gotten lots of info from here since 2009.

Most of the members here (including me) would advise you to get the e60 523i as it is a smooth straight 6 cylinders and the price of RM155k is reasonable. Prior to signing on the dotted line to buy the car, it is also advisable to send the car to a BMW specialist workshop and get a complete diagnosis & mechanical checks.

Welcome..welcome..

The E60 523 would have an inline 6 engine which will rev smoother than a 4 cylinder ever can. If u hve a family or planning to, that would be a better buy. If u r still single & want to look 'fierce' then maybe the E90 suits you better.

Whatever your decision, expect the depreciation..if u r worried abt the depreciation this marque is not for u..that one JDM better..Oh yeah..also do get it checked out as what bro Herbert says..pay a bit for diagnostics will save your sanity & pocket in the near future too!..

Good luck in your hunt..

Cheers :)

Wah...wah... So many warm replies, hehehe... After I tested so many 523i, can say their interiors are in bad condition, leather seats worn off, looks very old.... Almost 6 523i in the year 05,06 also like that... =(

Then was in cheese today, saw one BMW 320i M-Sport 2008 selling for rm175,000, white color with black interior !! Love it, in very good condition. Although is a bit small for me, but think of the fuel consumption then about the resale value, straight away I place a booking =p do you guys think it is a good buy ??

Welcome to the forum bro. Pls browse thru the 3 and 5 series thread to get more info before getting your new buy. :top:

Welcome to the forum, i would say the 5 is a better choice..i have owned both n the smooth in-line 6 engine is something to adore..up to u to decide, you have your final say..cheers

Wonder how is the fuel consumption for the 320i m sport ?? Full tank how much ?? Can travel how much in city drive n highways ??

Heard a lot on the 320d, hard to make decision le... 320i or 320d ??

No two ways, no doubting...the 320d is the car you MUST get! You only live once...live it up! Live it the 320d way-performance, economy, exhilaration! What else do you want?

Not much different lah....I think maybe 5K difference when bought new? If i were to get a brand new 320d,I'll ask BMW to install the BMW Powerkit to it-costs 5Kmore-if you get the BMW Powerkit and install it later like us-it costs 8,500MR.

Hi Ronnie

Let me help u on this.Real world driving figure.

Last week i traveled from KL-Kerteh Terengganu, spent 5 days in Kerteh, back to Shah Alam, then drove around KJ for a while, and refill my 320d in Shah Alam.
930.6km traveled on a SINGLE fuel tank of 57.7 liter of jelly good RM1.80 Diesel.

930.6 km on a 57.7liter = 6.2 liter / 100 km. I doubt u can have that figure on a 320i

p/s : u can try bargaining a 2010/2011 320d for slightly more than what u want to pay for that 08 320i.ask muhaiminrahim for his SA contact.

Thanks for the advised bro, I think I am getting the pre-registered 2010, selling at 205k, mileage is less than 1500km.

What is the Powerkit ??

Yup, for economy I will go for this... Save more money =p

But my test drive unit's engine sounds like a Lorry from the outside, and inside a bit bit....

Are all 320d like that ???

And wonder how much the service normally costs ???
