newbie for 120i need help

i just got my used unit 120i recently manufactured 2004, and i facing few problem as below and need all sifu sifu and master to help and advise1) car was suddenly lose power and after diagnose resulted VANOS ENGINE Sensorafter change the sensor, the car also the same the power is teribble as i comparing with my friend e46 320i N46 engines.2) i'm experience sudden jerking in high rev, and even though crusing in highway, it will suddenly jerk, and after do all checking and diagnose nothing goes wrong...i hope all the sifu sifu and senior master can give me an advise on above problem. It had been making my head to burst after this car get back since last two week...:help::help::help:

My 120i does jerk a bit when I go full throttle suddenly, but not when it's on a cruise on the highway.

Astroboy, Fabian, Jarance, other car gurus can help Eric with this problem?

bro, we have the same model from the same period with same color, so maybe we can meet up and look see each other's 1er, and probly diagnose the screw up? mine has none of the said problem, damn powwah!
there is a noticeable jerk (more prominent during low speed) when tranny switches from 2nd to 3rd gear following recent ATF change but i think dat's perfectly normal.
and also like grace mentioned, the power jerks during hard acceleration
do pm me if ur keen. i knw of a quite reputable workshop in tmn midah, cheras.

Wah! If I can diagnose and fix a Valvetronic Double Vanos engine, I wouldn't be a keyboard warrior lio.... and I wouldn't have spent extra to get a warrantied unit from AB..

What's the mileage on the engine?

Standard troubleshootings...

Try spark plugs... not asking you to change but open them up and see how's the condition. You can tell a lot from the condition of the plugs. Our plugs can last 100k km.. they are NGK iridiums..

Air filter... see how dirty they are.. when was last change? if too dirty, it will starve the engine..

AFM... clean them with CRC AFM spray if dirty, or else leave them alone!

Check for loose wires connector or leaky vacuum hoses.

Other more serious culprits can be problematic ignition coils (we hv only 4, thank god!), loose ignition wires, clogged fuel pump, Vanos sensors, cam sensors, Valvetronic motors..

Best get SC to diagnose, pay them the diagnose fee if any just to seek their professional opinion. If they can't diagnose your problem, you are just wasting your $$ keep replacing parts trial and error done by outside workshop.

I wish I can help for a fee..

Maybe knocking or pinging... try RON97 to see if the jerk is still lurking around..
