New 316i or Used 328i

Hello Everyone,

I'm planning to buy my first BMW, but are considering whether should I put my money on New 316i or a used 2012 328i. I saw a few in Instant Portfolio in Old Klang Road those 2012 328i looks very new at 200k.

I'm travel quite frequently averaging 3000km per month.

Which car should I go for? I heard alot my friend said used BMW tend to broke down alot and service cost a bomb.
Thats why duno whether to put my money on 316i or the Used 328i. I do like the 328i very much .

Honestly, when it comes to a driver's car like BMW, there will always be only one of two choices... The 320d or the 328i. The 320i will be considered a good compromise between price and performance but the 16i will eventually make you feel inadequate.

For that mileage, go for the 320d. It's highly reliable, great torque monster and a fuel sipper. There are a few low mileage 320d in mudah now, less than 2 year old asking 180k +, mileage circa 30k km.

If u believe & trust your friends that used BMW tend to brake down a lot and service cost a bomb, better not buy a BMW. Even if u buy new, it'll be used once it's out of the showroom..

But if u still want to get a BMW and maintenance is a concern, buy a pre-reg 320 with 5yrs BSRI.

A used 328i will be the better choice - more gadgets and more power but best to get a pre-reg from one of the BMW official dealers as mentioned by bro _M_. Those 2012 cars sold by other 3rd party dealers are out of warranty and BMW spare parts are never cheap so better pay a bit more and get from the likes of Quill or Ingress...

3000km a month? Better go for a 320d. The diesel better power and better mileage. Agree with most of the bro here... Go get a new or at least a pre reg unit with the 5 years BSRi intact for your perusal. Spare parts not cheap if you are venturing into a Beemer with no more BSRI.
