Need to do a check on a potential E30 before buying

Hi E30 guys, Im looking at one 87/96 E30 325i being sold and trying to see where/who I can take this car for an honest evaluation of the condition of it. Im new to this model although have driven UDMs for some time. Im aware of the long list of workshops in the klang valley, but I need to know which one can provide for a trustworthy point of view of this model. Anyone to recommend? Im from the Subang/PJ area.Any help appreciated. Thanks!:dontknow:

This might be a project for me...the E30 is so pure in its form and function.

you can prolly approach Ah Fai from Optimum. He's pretty trustworthy. A word of caution, they're usually quite busy, so you may have to make an appointment first. I recommend you go in to do this. Alternatively, I have an old timer that I see as well in Subang. Not a fancy workshop, but the guy is very experienced with older continental cars and is a straight shooter. yes, one could seek af fai, sam or ah foo himself. i prefer faizal - that boy has the right attitude and enthusiasm for M20 & M30. but he is away for couple of weeks.. cuti kawin.

Most importantly look for signs of rust....undercarriage check is a must...

Thanks, good point. Easily overlooked rust as one area. Someone has also pointed out this as well to check the engine power/gearbox.

the car is an SE, means all the extras came standard from the factory

everything is there except the cruise control, which should be a standard accessory for an SE, but then again, alot of cruise control malfunction

since you are staying in subang area, why don't you visit a workshop in USJ1, the shop name called WQW BMW auto trans specialist, i know the boss, he is quite good on 70's to 90's of BMW especially E28 and E30... the boss called Wong.
