Brother. Mind to tell me how much u pay for the monthly installment? Did ur car every month send to repair? Wat makes ur salary left RM2000??? Just curious.

Bro,

My car installment is at rm500/mnth, and i did not send my car for repair every month, so far this car of mine had only spent rm5k for the ware & tare parts such as airconditioning, bushings, mountings, tyres....and i've been driving this UDM for 3years
What make my salary left rm2k? well i have 2cars, that will set aside rm1100 on the monthly installment, my house payment rm750.....from that rm2k i will need to top up the fuel, the car interval service, any sudden car brokedown (so far none...)my child education, etc, etc....

Dear Brother Koh,

If you get a 328, you will not enjoy life. You may be able to get through the normal maintenance, but when it comes to major repairs it can sometimes be costly. With a BMW comes a certain lifestyle. However having said that, get the car if you have the following options in the near future

1. Increase in salary ( a lot )
2. A substantial windfall
3. Somebody willing to sponser you
4. You found a immaculate condition car
5. You have a huge savings in the Bank
6. Can repair your own car

I do not wish to rain on your dreams, but expenses on a BMW can be quite steep. I just sent in my car for repairs and so far my bill is at RM 6190.00, and it is only half done. I make a percentage more than you and yet I feel the pinch. You should be able to afford at least RM 1K for maintenance monthly to be on the safe side, though it rarely comes to that amount, but still.

However if you still wish to dive in to acheive your dream of owning a UDM, then my friend, I wish you the best and may you find a trouble free car.

however, if you want a cheaper alternative, there is always the 318i M40/M43. It is relative cheap to maintain and to run. It's also better with fuel consumption and less traffic summons.

Koh, dont be too ambitious at this stage....go for a 318i M40/43 first. Or better still learn to love the E30, you will be surprise! Progress as you go....if you (touch wood) get a problematic 328i, you will have a bad impression on the UDM and you will have a phobia in owning one in future. Good luck!
