Hi all,Yesterday I've lost my remote key. After a day finding it, no sign to be found. Now i only have a small black key and a valet key. After tried to open the door and start the engine with the valet key, it works. Is it ok for using it temporary. I guess so but i noticed the alarm is not function. So, anyone who can advice me to get a new remote key. My ride BMW e46 318i 2002. My location JB. Thanks in advance

Salam....Ibrahim Hanif, so sorry to hear. Well i think it would be good

for you to go to Auto Bavaria JB branch to get a replacement

and make a pair of it to be safe. I did mine in Auto Bavaria KL

and for the latest price perhaps you may call them

and ask. It will be very fast but you the owner need to be there.

Good luck to you and have a great day.

Wassalam :)

Agree with bro Alby, best to get it replaced with Auto Bavaria. One of my friend replaced his and he told me it cost RM1.4k..that was last year..

anyone knows if there is any procedure in applying for extra keys? Only owner of the car can request or just about anyone who drives the car? And how about reconned BMW? Can we just go to Auto Bavaria and request for the key? Reason i asked, is because i only have 1 key, even so the immobilizer is spoiled.

if immobilizer is spoilt why you need extra key? You cant start the car if the immobilizer is broken.

There is a guy who can duplicate the spare for you. he usually lurks around the forum.

Hi ....Ibrahim Hanif and krsna. I think for E46 318 2002 will cost only around 900.00 plus and should not

cost more than that for standard key perhaps the 1.4k is for a other car model.

Truly hope you will get your key done soon so that the car alarm will be in

working order my friend.:)

Okay ...with Auto Bavaria which i am certain it will not take long the most is 30 min provided

the car is under your name plus you bought the car from any of the Auto Bavaria branch and

even if you are a 2nd owner as long as the first owner bought from Auto Bavaria then you may

Have to bring your car registration card to show that you are the rightful owner because they

have to make sure its safe for them to do it for you.

Please do it fast my friend as its never safe to drive around the car without alarm

plus even with an alarm it always good to put a short T bar for your steerig wheel which a small cost

less than 100 ringgit at Giant Subang Jaya or Giant JB....which can be use as and when needed.

Its always good to be safe than sorry...

you cannot rely on living with only 1 key bro. It's just not healthy haha. Sorry, the immo is ok, the alarm is not ok. Any chance you can pass the contact details of the duplicator bro?

Hi ...subsonique. :)

Okay ...this is what i know,

They will be able to help you with an extra key provided you have to be

the owner of the car plus the car is sold to you by their

branch , if you are a 2nd owner please briing along your car registration card along

to proof that you are the owner. And if the car is purchase somewhere else they can still

help you but you have to register the car with them and bring along the registration card

with a fees for registration plus safety. For extra safety , please do it proper way my friend.:)

Take care

If it is not Auto Bavaria than you may have to go back to them and i am sure they can do it fast

too plus remember to bring the registration card ya...They should have a record too of your car.

Regarding the price there should not be much of difference what i have said earlier.

Hi...krsna86, i am certain that for a standard key for if i am not mistaken

they call it diamond key a key with a remote control is around 900.00 plus only.

Maybe you friend had a different one. Its also the same price for 325i E46 and 318 E46.

I think two years ago was somewhere 800.00 plus.

Take care

I need to get my key done as well. E46 320 year 2000. But my key is not the diamond key. When i change the key, do i need to get the diamond key as well? My key is ok but i think i need to get the replacement. Mine is an old model key looks like E39 model. is it also the same price? or do i have to change to diamond key type? If i change to diamond key type, i have to change the transponder too? please advice further thanks :D
