Dear fellow forummers,I was just wondering if you owners of the 525i sports encounter a transmission problem like what I am experiencing. It happens when you drive in 'D' and when you want to overtake, you floor the accelerator but it seems reluctant to downshift, some sort of a sluggish response, in order to get a better response, I have to push it to 'DS'. Is there a problem with the transmission or is it normal?

As what I got advice from ther other forummers, pls send your car to AB for software reset or upgrade. Currently the latest software is 27.1. I already called AB to have my s/w updated which ttok around 6 hours. Cost about RM100+/hour.

Would they even take in my vehicle as this was a reconditioned unit? As far as I know they wouldn't right?

u can, but u got to fill up a form n write in to them n submit all relevant docs pertainingur car first.

Lee Motors from Alor star and Seong Hoe from Malacca is the official SC for BMW and they are not Auto Bavaria. The tools as good as AB and I think you do not need to register.

Also another problem here.. We don't have an authorised service centre or showroom here in Sabah, which makes thigs more difficult.

Sapura Auto in Jalan Tun Razak KL doesnt ask for any documents.

All they ask for is the keys to your car to get the work done and your chequebook when its done.

Look like your only bet is Kuching!

Haha, driving all the way down it's a bit of a harsh ride for this fella here. Road conditions are not so good.

I think it will NOt be a complete upgrade but they can upgrade on certain features of your car. I presume yours is E39

I don't think it's an e39, but the first batch of e60's built towards the end of 2003...

yes, it's applicable, but only if it's not a jap spec... if it is, i don't advise you to update via SSS coz it'll screw up your CCC...Trust me on this...

Japan spec has different version and cannot be reset. Any particular reason why BMW has so many version.

In Malaysia then are we using UK version?

Yes, it is very similar in terms of system & language if compared to an EU spec (for the progman update via SSS)except that in malaysia, the on board "traffic info" on sat nav is not really applicable...

when you are on a jap spec, it can't understand the system & language of the car. the hardware on the car is also different (part no.'s are majorly specified for jap spec...) that's why your CCC can't be updated...(except for a previous version of update version 22.0 where alot of the cars were updated succesfully...)

My Father E38 Had The Same Problem Last Week. Mechanic Found Out It Was Cause By Bad ABS Sensor. After Replaced, Now The Problem Solved.

Since Your Car Is New E60, Better Check the Connector Of The ABS Sensor In Good Contact Or Not.....

ABS sensor. Do you mean Anti braking system. What this has to do with the transmission. Very interesting finding

Yes..........I also don't know why it has connection to the gearbox.may be the computer ECU prevent you from changing to lower gear to prevent you to sprint faster gua since your ABS Sensor already Bye Bye~~~

But After replace ABS Sensor, The Steptronic Gearbox Become More Responsive, really!!!

Is there a way to swap out the MD + CD Player to a CD + DVD one just like the LCI dual slot ones? I find MD useless

I just bought a similiar car like u hv but it is 05 from Jap. I do not discover this problem at all. Anyway do u know is i change my run flat tyre to normal one. Is there any effect to the RPA that found in the i-Drive system? Thank you.

It won't affect at all, you just have to re-initialize the RPA after putting in the correct pressure into your new set of wheels.
