P/s: need tips for the 1st & 2nd Gear issue, only hav trouble gearing in, but after that, it is smooth running.[/QUOTE]

Speedevil- Please check your clutch slave and master pumps and also the gear shift linkages & bushings. From experience its usually the pumps that causes this problem. If these parts are functioning well then you need to look at the clutch pressure plate, discs & bearing.

thks fibeblade.

I just went to my nearby trusted normal service centre which do my other japanese car. The mechanic actually said:
- my shifter got no free play. Hence, no bushes nor linkage issues.
- my clutch pedal got no prob. No adjustment can do.
- Only 1st & 2nd gear i have prob, thus, its Not abt d GB Oil issues. & Not Rear Differential Bushes issues.
- Didn't mention abt the master pump at all.

Sound logic to me.

His conclusion without driving my car but tested only the Shifter, Clutch Pedal & based on my Description:
- It must be either the Clutch needed to changed
- Or GB needed to service.

Dear all Sifus, Pls advise.. THKS

could be your synchros. since u say 2nd gear is easy when slow. try to shift from 3 to 2 when driving at moderate speeds, and blip the throttle to match the revs. if it goes in smooth, could be your synchros. try it and see.

worn out clutch will usually slip when u rev the car. so sounds that the clutch is fine.

service the box? i doubt it will be cost effective. might as well get a replacement unit. could be cheaper. 325i i think is getrag240? dont get the getrag220. or you could always get my zf box, hehehe. i have mine still when i swapped to 6 spd. PM me if you're interested, will let you have for cheap. :)

thks ramsing!

but my 2nd nvr goes in smooth in high speed, not even below 2k rpm most of the times!
i can only have smooth in of 2nd gear after 1st gear in slow rev, not even most of the times.

but my gear from 1 to 5 nvr slip out at high speed/high rev.

since i not even know what to do 1st.. i m just leaving it like tat.
might just do the clutch thing 1st... ??
if prob not solved, then will go to gb servicing. GB overhaul for manual is cheaper right, how much roughly? change everything inside or just servicing?

zf gb? better? how much ya? pm me 1st :)

new surface- 205/50 front, 225/45 rear.
new look!:burnout: new pics added.

Some update to previous prob of gb:
been driving for more than half years. Changed whole aircond system for 2.5k
GB been doing well after oil change. (mayb i alrd get used to its timing)
So i nvr change any parts for gb!

Interesting look with the white walls.. perhaps some spacers to push them flush to the fenderline would just enhance it enough to look tough as nails!
