A TRAFFIC police officer was arrested for sexual harassment in Kuala Lumpur after two women accused him of making indecent proposals in return for not booking them for speeding. The women, who drove separately, claimed the cop had stopped them at a roadblock along Jalan Cheras between 1.15am and 1.50am on Sunday and accused them of speeding, reported China Press. One of them, identified as Miss Ang, 27, an accountant, claimed the cop told her to remove her blouse while the other woman, Miss Hoe, 23, a singer, was allegedly asked to show her 'nice legs'.Accompanied by Cheras Member of Parliament Tan Kok Wai, the women spoke to reporters at a press conference on Wednesday. The women claimed they were told that if they followed the cop's request, they would not be fined for speeding.Miss Ang claimed the cop even asked her to pose sexily and that he went to the extent of asking if she wore underwear. She lodged a report at 2.30am at the Cheras police headquarters. She said she was shocked when the cop made the indecent proposal and even thought she misheard him.She said: 'He repeated his words and even asked me if I understood him. Eventually, I gave him RM15 ($6.40) through my car window before driving off.'Miss Hoe said the police officer told her to step out of the car and asked her for RM50, before settling for RM20 after she said that was all she had.She said: 'The officer said he only wanted to see my thighs and he had no intention of molesting me.'She lodged a report at 4.50pm at the same police station that Miss Ang went to.Miss Ang and Miss Hoe claimed that the officer even laughed loudly when they picked him out at an identification parade.Miss Ang also said that one of the police inspectors asked if she would agree to settle the matter privately, but she refused. She said: 'When I identified the officer, he didn't show any remorse. In fact, his attitude smacked of arrogance.'She said she wanted to tell her story as she has not been sleeping well after the incident.Miss Ang said: 'The incident won't stop me from driving alone. But the next time I see a roadblock, I'm not sure if I'll stop because I'm worried that the same thing might happen to me again.'Mr Tan told The Malay Mail: 'This is abuse of power.... This is not the first case involving police abusing their power. I hope this matter will be investigated fairly.'This article was first published in The New Paper. Was this published in our local papers?

The topic was also brought up in Astro channel 301 Chinese news talk show. (Live broadcast 10.30 nightly).

Did not read this in the Star newspaper, but am not surprised that this went unreported. I wish I could read Chinese

I recall reading it somewhere online. Forgot if it was The Star online or TMI.

Next time if I stopped for speeding, I'll voluntarily show my "sausage" & "rambutan" without the cops asking. This type of cops which ruin the police image should be put behind bars. Still there many good cops out there. The other day my neighbour merz windscreen was smashed by thief & the police persistently stay until the owner come to attend the car.:smokin:

guys imagine he cops stopped a women and asks to strip.then buka seluar nampak telor.hahah.then she asks and nak service.i think they might take it la.

theres so many reports of police abuse, injustice, incompetence etc etc that its unbelievable. Whats even more disgusting is the way the government is dragging its feet to correct matters. F*****g sad.

Our police force is disgrace generally. Most of them are no different from hooligans. I don't mean to be rude but most of them are pathetic morons with low esteem and no self respect and dignity at all. They are licensed to rob and extort.

out of curiosity, most of the policemen in my taman living a lavish livestyle, which is obviously beyond their mean. Do any of you guys knows any policemen, who own a kapcai only. ? Most of them can afford to buy property and car far beyond their mean. correct me if i'm wrong, take a look at the policement in your neighbourhood, how's their life style.

By the way that day, i was in SS2, PJ somewhere at the junction of MC D, e it used to be previous the police beat are under the tent, now changed to the 'lavish' caravan..it was noticeably there were few cops inside the caravan, full of air con..talking like in a kopi tiam... wondering what is actually their function. Why must waste public money for unnecesary expenses. they ought to patrol the neighbourhood, best possible by walking. it is more effective to deter crime.
