pls introduce yourself at Newbie section as you have just begun posting on this forum.
with regards to your query, best you elaborate your need further; explain your choice of direction, budget, etc. also, the most comprehensive answers are seldom given out here, but during meets with those with experience in your intended path; be nice to them, they will be even kinder towards you..
Thank you very much I have no perticular budget but I'm having 2 vision for my car one will be converting the engine 2a better grade like a E46 OR E87 AND THE OTHER AIM IS TO MAKING IT A CONVERTABLE BUT I'M NOT SURE IF JPJ WILL APPROVE FOR CONVERTING MY CAR......PLEASE ADVISE
1. writing in capital letters is usually implied that you are raising your voice.
2. it would be good if you can share where you got the idea of transplanting with an E46 engine, and why you wish to do the same.
3. why would you want to drive an unsafe car with its roof chopped off? not to mention illegal.
4. if you don't have a budget (i.e. filthy rich), there's a mint original E30 cabriolet for sale.
i suggest you respect your E30 by sticking to M40/42 or M20. you're not getting much response here as we don't know who you are, we don't know your preferences, and most importantly what is your general attitude towards E30's.
again, get to know E30 owners. one liner questions by newbies are seldom responded by serious answers.
M50 is the way to go. Check out r3vlimited.com. Tons of data and pictures and tips for this conversion. Only thing is u will have to find a proper workshop to do this coversion. Local e30s owners tend to be a bit more conservative but dont be discourage. Go for it if u have the budget. Personally i find the m40 not the most exciting engine so its just a waste of time if u go this direction. A m42 will also be another good option.
