Hi....my car E36 325 kinda vibrates when in the gear change process from 2 to 3rd gear (its auto). At first suspect it is autogear transmission problem but another mechanic told this is due to longshaft problem. Has anybody encounter this problem? If so what is the price to repair it.any estimation??

I am not sure about the e36 but try and check the centre bearing on that holds the long shaft to the car. It could be worn.

Long shaft unbalance will vibrate during acceleration but not sure during gear change.

Hi

Carnel was right. The vibration was caused by worn center bearing rubber bush as well as the 2 rubber bushes which hold the transmission box. Cost of replacement around Rm 300.
