Hi all SIFUS out there.....Since 2 weeks ago I noticed that my e46 got "kook...kook" sound from the back of the car when I slow down the car or if I depress the accelerator pedal or release a little while on third and second gear. Is the problem due to the freeplay of the gear is too much or is it coz of the longshaft balancing is out? :joyman:Any good workshop around Kajang to check this problem?

Hi,

Having the same issue, still can't fix the problem, so far ,

1. change bush - issue remain
2. axial bush - issue remain

next will try left drive shaft (passenger side) from diffential to rear wheel.

BMWSociety, maybe you have better luck, keep us inform.

Hi iphoein,

Thanks for your reply bro. Are you driving 318Ci as well?
Anyway, tomorrow morning I am going back to my home town Kedah , will bring my car to 1 of my favorite mech at Sg Petani - Jackson Tai. Will ask him to check my car.

Will keep updating you guys. Enjoy your weekend bro.

hi all...im new here....just bought my 1st conti...e46318ci....its hard to find members that have same model...please share with me any info ....

thanks... :)

hi.. anybody knows the price abd cost to replace this long shaft and its mounting.. i have asked 1 wshop and he quote me 1K++ ..

Most likely is the the axle bush problem not so much on the long shaft or coupling coz I have the same problem before. You may need to check the bushing first before changing the long shaft. Bushing 2 set big / small cost less than RM400. # 2, #4 , #7.
