Mine is exactly in the same situation as yours as I travelled the N-S every week. Got it changed about a year ago to the German made but noticed that it chips very easily. Lots of dots now especially when you are facing the sun. Previously changed it for RM3000 though.

wow...3k for windscreen. some windscreen shop in TTDI also quoted me around the same price. but i'm just wondering glass is glass, unless there's a special mix in the composition which makes it different from the local glass. but quite a numebr of ppl said that it still chips easily. so i guess not.

...try using clay bar & rub on the windscreen to remove some of the roughness.. make sure u lube the windscreen first. :)

hmm.....thansk for the tip. i guess lube in this sense would be soap? its like there's a rough layer on the glass. was thinking of getting that ultrafine glass sandpaper, but might make it worse.

I dun think that the roughness can be remove.

thats what the windscreen guy in TTDI told me, but then again he was pushing me to get the whole thing changed. so had to take it with a pinch of salt. but its crummy if u cant slightly skim the glass.

the glass bmw uses is of low yield material..it will chip very easily... mine one year plus also bad..

the msg glass is much stronger.. cheaper also..

RM1800 for front windshield + whole car V-Cool?

Only the front !
I got it done at Soo Kee Motors in Ipoh.
Those in Ipoh who knows this workshop will know that their spray paint is top class but expensive.
