Guys,This morning I saw there was a leak near one of my injectors. I'm not so sure whether it came from the injector or the fuel railing (is this possible?). Anyone can advise me on what could cause the leaking? Could this be one of the reason why my car drinks petrol like crazy..?? I need some opinion or alternative on how to fix it. ThanksBy the way, i'm driving e28 525i. Please help.. Cheers

from what you have said you just have to change the o ring. Only 2 things happen when fuel is leaking 1st fuel consumption will be high and 2nd your car catch fire. so dont waste time get it fix ASAP.

you need to change the rubber O rings around the injectors, it may cause the leak and excessive petrol, also you need to be careful not to crink the rubbers when installing it in, you need petroluem jelly and i know pussy has lots of it as he keeps it for his private functions.......

Thanks for the information guys..
So i should just change the "O RING" right? Thats all? Any idea how much does it costs?
By the way, would there be any improvement if i change the injectors to bigger ones as well?

bro, slight leak, change O ring, not injectors. If want to change injectors to have more power, then also considered to change throttle body and air intake manifold. No point having more fuel injected but not enough air to burn.

BTW, changing the O-ring is not so easy cos you have to dismantle several thing in order to access to fuel injector. Leave it to the expert..

Use a torch light to shine on the leak. Sometime it could be just a loose connection on the hose clip from the fuel line.

thanks tj, i do have the jelly with me..DMC get it fix quickly..as red baron says..

Is it Expensive to change the O rings?

O ring are relatively cheap as compare to other "wear and tear part". They should not cost more than RM10 each. Don't know the exact price but you can check with with AB.

However, even though the o-ring are cheap but the labour might be costly cos it involve removing the throttle body and air intake manifold before you can get access to the fuel injectors. Furthermore, you need a "special tool" to extract the injectors. If you were to use a pliers, you might break or damage the injectors. I have seen one workshop use it before. It look like a plier but the clamp have a slot groove to insert below the injector seat.

so take care if you want to remove the fuel injector by yourself.

Thanks Jarance.
I'll just leave it to my mech as it sounds complicated to DIY..
Will let you know the result.. Going to send my car tomorrow for repair..

Guys,
I've changed the injectors' O rings.
However, i felt the car a bit more responsive on acceleration.
Is this possible or its just me

maybe now your injectors are sparying fine. Mine brittled actually which is the injector itself. So, was pretty bad. Changed the 1st injector.

Wanted to pluck in the m50 ones but cannot fit. :(

Elwine,
Put the 528 or 535i injectors la.. Sure can fit right?:)

DmC, bro how much did the o-ring cost you? and also the labour cost?

of course, it will be more responsive coz now all the fuel is injected at the correct pressure. (provided that previuosly there is a leak at the injector).

I changed mine for RM53 inclusive labour charges.
Changed all 6 injectors' O rings.
Yeah, i think the car response better a bit la.. But i need more torque.. How ah? Change the injectors & intake manifold to bigger ones?

i have a set of M50 2.8L injectors but it won't fit into the M30 engine and fuel rail. :(, unless i go find a 3.5L one

If we want to change to 3.5L injectors, then we have to change to 3.5L air intake manifold & throttle body right? Anyone tried this before? Will there be any improvement in the torque?

er, you only need to upgrade your injectors ONLY if you are experiencing fuel starvation when your injectors are running at 100%. But to change them just for fun..... can also.
