After thinking about it for a while, I have decided to swap out my M-Tech suspension for KW V2 on my 325i MSport E90 this coming Monday. I was considering JIC Cross and KW but have decided to go with KW2. I intend to lower the car by about 1 in or so and set to the firm side. Would appreciate feedback from E90 owners with KW suspension. So, I will be heading to Obermaier on Monday to see Freddie to do the swap and will also do the HIOP ECU remap while I am at it :) If anyone interested in a 2 year old M-Tech suspension please let me know!

There's no turning back on KW V2.

I last heard the JIC cross is firmer for track use. Good choice on KW.

Bro Peanut, Why do you mentioned M-Tech? I thought its M-Sports...Anyway, how much you wanna sell your ori suspension?
Wonder if they can fit my ride (320).

Can anyone confirm please?

Suspension on 325i cannot be fitted on 320i. I can confirm that bro. Same apply to those after-market like Eibach or H&R springs.

If im not mistaken, i think can cause the part numbers for 325 and 320 are the same and also for after market parts like bilstein and eibach. Maybe H&R srings are different but im pretty sure bilsteins are the same.
As for M-Sport suspension, they are different from the 325 non m-sport model and can only fit into 325 m-sport models.

Cheers

Managed to put in the KW V2 today. I set it to mid setting (1.5 turn out of 3 turns) for both front and back. Front was lowered by 20mm and rear 25mm (from my M-Tech level). Initial impression: even at the mid setting, the car is much firmer/harder than the M-Tech suspension. My back can actually feel the difference! Very little body roll now when cornering.

Didn't get to do my HIOP remap due to lazy German people didn't send the file over

Still in the midst of choosing the right suspension for my ride. Don't mind sharing how much u paid for it? Does the KW v2 meet your expectation for both handling & comfort department? Tx

I only have it for one day so it is hard to say. Like I said, initial impression is that it is harder than M-Tech (everything else being the same) at middle setting. Of course with KW V2 you can adjust it to the softer setting which should be similar to M-Tech suspension at its softest setting.

Significant handling improvement due to lower CG and firmer setting. It meets my expectations but I got to get used to the harsher ride. If you are carrying old folks (e.g parents) or children, you may want to set it at the softer side (1 turn from the softest setting instead of 1.5 out of 3 like mine).

Everyone's interpretation of hard and soft are very different. I suggest to test it out on others' ride. I always prefer the performance over comfort so harder setting may be OK with me but not OK with someone else!

Your settings are close to the KW v2 recommended settings which I find a bit harsh for KL roads. For Singapore type roads its perfect! Actually even for recommended settings, smaller bumps and undulations should be more comfy compared to stock. Its the bigger bumps which turn out harder.

I went with 5 clicks softer from the recommended setting for both front and rear and have been happy with it. The nicest thing is the car hardly dips and rolls and feels more like a go-kart after the KW upgrade :).

Key reason Im thinking of upgrading my suspension is to get rid (or improve) of floating & swaying effect at corner & 150km/h+. So with soft setting, does this help to address the concern? In short, still trying to obtain comfort vs handling (i know its hard). Pls advice. Tx

floating & swaying? what size of wheels are u on currently?

i didnt quite feel it when i was on my 17" style 161 in Bridgestone Re050 RFT. i even pushed up to 230km/h tailing a F430 on NSH.

RFT sidewall is harder/stiffer and swaying effect, i would say is very minimal.

RFT tramlining effect pretty bad. Or is it one of the characteristic of low profile wide tyres? couple with our heavy steering, I find myself wrestle with the car pretty often.. :p even at high speed. So must stay alert and focus.

I agree that my setting is on the firm side which is what I want. Otherwise, I would have stayed with the M-Tech suspension which actually I was very happy with in terms of balancing sportiness and comfort.

With the KW at the mid setting, every road imperfection is felt but tolerable for me. My front passenger commented that the ride is also on the harder side but also tolerable. I will run it for a couple of weeks and see if any adjustments need to be done. Overall, very happy with this upgrade.

Our BMWs will fall apart in 5 years regardless. So enjoy it to the fullest in those years LOL.
