Is the airbag in our BMW faulty ?

Dear Forummers,

The following news report says BMW could be having defective airbags :

Safety should be our utmost concern. Is there a way to find out which specific model or year of manufacture is affected ? If affected, how can the airbag be changed and the cost ?

Typical of BMW Malaysia's replies.... Are they not representing a truly global brand and as such be more responsible in their statements!

Grey imports are a big portion of selective premium brands on our current roads. From the list that I've read of BMW's there ought be a sizeable number of affected cars grey imported on to our shores.

BMW Malaysia should be more of a responsible corporate entity and brand ambassador! Expand that statement, take responsibility, provide resolution options to owners/drivers of those affected grey imported car.

BMW Malaysia, if you are reading this, do the right thing! In this day and age, doing things right goes a long way... And remember also, it may be your mum, dad, sons or daughters driving those 'ghost grey' cars.
