Ipod Adaptor for Mini

Those who has been looking for Ipod adaptor for mini cooper it is now available at Mini/Autobavaria. Just ordered mine. Cost price RM1600 excluding installation.

But bear in mind, using an FM modulator would be like listening to actual radio. Certain frequencies will be attenuated or vice versa. (Has anyone ever noticed FM receptions to be more bassy?) Personally i wouldn't recommend these. I would recommend the made-for-iPod adapters or even the cassette adapters. Provided you're using a cassette player and it's head is always kept clean.

Even so, RM1600 is rather pricey. Zul... this adaptor you're referring to... is it for standard Mini players? I was quoted a Kenwood iPod adaptor for my (now ex) E36's Kenwood head unit (iPod-ready of course) for just RM700 (still negotiable). You'd get the added advantage of controlling the iPod from the head unit itself. Oh... if I'm not mistaken, it charges the battery too...

The adpator is specifically made for Mini. Check at http://www.mini.com/com/en/ipod_special/in...age/content.jsp
The connection from the radio/head to the ipod is put in the glove compartment. You'll be able to control from the multifunction steering. It read as reading CD changer. It will read the 1st 5 directory in the Ipod and if you press the no 6 then you'll play all the song. I guess you won't be able to use the CD changer. Anyway I've not been using it for the past 2 months. Been using the FM transmitter but the quality is not good.

for those who owns blaupunkt head unit,like most use in stock bmw,can get the ipod stereo adaptor for only 150bux original from blaupunkt.

pro:can play almost any external audio device like h.phone,pda,mp3 palyer,psp,md player,walkman anything la with stereo jack in...sound,superbs.cd quality.easy to install,never tamper the warranty.

cons:cannot charge the battery,cannot control tracks from hu...

fm transmiter....yucks
