So its not available in Malaysia then.

Did you get to display the mp3 tags on your setup? The user manual states that without the Alpine KCA420i unit the screen will only display 'Track 1', 'Track 2' etc instead of.the song name.

Yes I think you need to email them to request firmware update. Include the serial number of your unit.

My side mirrors are factory fitted with the auto folding electric mirrors. Right now I use a switch on the mirror control console to fold and unfold.

Where do you live? Might want to try it out before i buy.

Yes, The MP3 tags are shown. The KCA is only used if you link it to an Ipod. If not, then you don't need it. I work in Sunway and stay in USJ. PM me if you want to meet up.

1. Intravee II - GBP151.14 (toysinyourcar.com)
2. 5m long Ai-Net cable - GBP26.08 (toysinyourcar.com)
3. Alpine KCA-420i iPod Adapter - GBP51 (ebay)
4. Lumidock for E39 - USD85 (lumidock.com)

You can buy everything except the Lumidock over ebay, the Intravee normally comes up in eBay UK at about 1 set per week, and normally go for GBP180-220 if includes cables and KCA-420i depending how many people are watching. I got frustrated after so many time lost bidding so just buy new.

been bidding on Intravee units on eBay UK for quite a while but they always close above my max. chances are we've crossed path bidding on same item on few different occasions. keke. anyways, at their typical closing price figured might as well get a new unit from toysinyourcar. i've already got ainet cable and kca-420i. looking forward to your updates.

Stupid question, but does this work for the iPhone too?

Yes it does. Only thing the KCA-420i will not charge the iPhone due to Apple changing its equipment. you will need to mod/buy modded KCA-420i to enable charging of your iPhone through the system.

Anyway everything is installed in my car and working as expected. Loving it.

I dont need the adapters since I'm running iPod Classic in my car. Just for info only.

i am planning to buy this intravee unit. Wondering if it will work with Iphone 4S and charging it as well?

I want to keep my ori HU intact as well as ability to use my steering buttons for tracks, volume and albums.

cheers

I think needs the charge adapters la. If need to test the function of the thing, can test my unit to your car no probs.

Thanks haywire.
BTW I found this while googling for the best iphone connector. This is the latest kit that connects straight behind the BMW professional ori HU:
http://www.xcarlink.co.uk/product.php?productid=111&cat=16&page=1

The price is GBP91.53 delivered. (It costs GBP79.66 parts alone).

But I am not sure whether mine is a 10-pin connector (round pins) or a 12-pin quadlock(flat pins).

Before I order I need to know the type of connector behind the HU.

Does anyone know? Mine is a local spec 2001/2002 local spec 525i E39.

And looks like it only supports upto Iphone 3GS so I have to look for a used Iphone 3GS.

Thanks.

Bro Zib, good find there. If you read again it does say that it is now compatible with iPhone 4 and will charge it as well.

You probably need to take out your radio unit to be sure. I'll try to check later what connector is used for the professional radio.

From my experience in selling the headunit, yours is the flat pins socket. The round pin mainly see in PFL car.

Thanks bmw7833,
So can I go ahead and order the 12-pin quadlock flat pins?

zib, it is not hard to take out the MID, just a click and it will pop out. Don't take my word as a final answer.
