Wanna share pics of your ICE setup in your UDM..... well here is the place to post it. Let me get the ball rolling........ Here is a pic of my boot.

Nice one, Bro ... I see some Orions there ... Blade pun ada and PG too ... Nice clean install.

But let's list out the equipments for the sake of reference. It wud also serve as a sounding board for those who wants to know more of a certain hardware before buying / upgrading, maybe ?

any of you know where to get ADS speakers and amps? i've been looking around and found only one shop in subang that has them. anywhere else? i'd like to compare prices. thanks!

ADS amps and speakers are not easy find these days. Some issues with the last distributor so these are now being brought in thru parallel imports. I have a few guys who are selling em ... the amps not the speakers so PM me and I will direct you to them.

he show me an ADS amp... nice.. price is good... but i have my eyes on a Xetec now....

yeah man. maybe can jalan2x. i'm just surveying around. i experienced their stuff a couple of years ago. recently my friend installed a full set in his e46. damn steam. nice, clear and crisp.

Sorry I cud not ring you back yesterday, buddy. I was hooked thru one meeting after another. By the time i got home, had a string of conference calls lined up.

So, you were at Jerry's place ? Which Xetec amp did he show you ? The Prestige P4 or the Evo .... If it's entry level Xetecs, my advise if to go for the ADS amp. SMS me your H/P No again .. I'll give you a ring and we'll chat.

There is a new a/d/s distributor in Shah Alam but they told me they dont carry much stock because they are slow moving specialty components.

There is an installer near my place that stocks and specializes in them. he has amps, and compo sets.

it's alright. we had fun yesterday. Jerry wasn't at the shop. so i talked to kenny.

I am not sure about the Xetec model, but it's the one has 5 channels, 4x100 and 1x500. It has xover also. But it's a used unit. Is this model 5G900?

Errr......van, correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that they have stopped producing ADS some years back.

Sadly, a/d/s is no longer an American brand. The ownership to that brand was sold to a Asian consortium ... if I am not wrong but they have stuck with the ol adage of not trying to kill the brand. I have yet to see their new range of products for 2004/5 but have been told that the ol school sound qualities and build quality MAY have not been lost. Lemme see if I can dig up some news on what really happened.

P/S - Adding on the above ... a/d/s did not last too long in the hands of that consortium. The current owner is Directed Elect. Inc - DEI who also happens to own Orion, Precision Power, Viper, Clifford Security, D/Extreme and a couple of other brands too. Based in CA, they have discontinued the ol school a/d/s designs like the Powerplate series amps - Magic / Naza2 do grab the 8 channel P850.2 series amp from Jerry if you guys have the budget. I have heard the P450.2 bridged driving Diamond Audio Hex speakers at a show recently & they can really rock.

Just for your info ... the P850.2 specs are like this -

50W x 8 @ 4 ohms
100W x 8 @ 2 ohms
150W x 4 bridged @ 4 ohms

Current range of the new a/d/s - aka ADST are only 2 way components and subs. No amplifiers are visible yet but given DEI's way of doing things, these are no longer made in the US but somewhere in Far East. Build quality and SQ ... no comments if the current range of PPIs and Orions are anything to go by.

Aiyoh ... guys - the idea of this thread was to share our set ups / photos and ideas. So let's keep the ball rolling, shall we ? I will put mine here ... come on fellas - let's see some action here ???

Head unit - Nakamichi MB100 with external DAC
Pre-amp / E/cross-over - Nakamichi MB100 Pre-amp/DAC
Amplifiers - JBL GTQ400 ( soon to be replaced by SS Van Gogh for front stage - running active ) & JBL BP600.1 Digital Class D Mono for the sub.

Front speakers - Monitor Audio Gold ( DLS UR6S waiting to go in )
Rear speakers - N/A
Sub/s - 1 x 12 inch CDT HE120 / sealed 1.25 cft enclosure
Cabling / interconnects - Streetwires speaker cables / Belden custom made RCA ( try finding this one ... :nyehehe: )

As I said .... still work in progress ... not worthy to be compared to some of you. I've done my part .... now let's see yours !!!
