hello guys, im interested at E46 or E90, and recently i found one E46 black colour in Mudah, but honestly i really dont know much about BMW range or any parts to look at when buying a BMW so i need help... or anyone planning to sell their E46..

There are a few e46 for sale in our Classifieds section. When you have found a unit that is within your budget and liking, would recommend that you send the car to a BMW specialist workshop for a thorough mechanical & diagnostic test. Said workshop will be able to give you an estimate of repair charges. Do keep in mind that you will need to put aside at least RM 5k to 8k for initial service and repairs charges.

wow, really its necessary ? can anyone advise me whether i should take E46 that nearly 10years car? does it will cost me alot of repairing work? because i just start to work so money is a real talk for me...hehehe (tapi minat gile BMW)

Start working is ok but what is the salary? How about your commitment? If salary about rm2500 then better go for older model.

Money is getting smaller nowadays. U still need extra money for your gf, house and other future plan. I also like GTR, but i only can drool in 100m far.

Refer back to herbert' post above, just send the car to workshop for inspection. I would recommend u to read and know more before u take the decision, BMW is a manja car. Many owners working for the car, not the car working for him.

soooo true the last part "Many owners working for the car, not the car working for him".hehe.... all the advice given by the sifus are right...my personal experience; prepare at least RM8k if planning to have a bmw UDM or go for older model like e36. it is pure pleasure when driving a BMW but will sure put you under presuring when problem start to surface...

good luck and happy hunting..cheers..

guys where is the place for best workshop inspection? and rather cheap than others?

xacpu ... the car as posted looks good ... as for the best workshop for inspection there are aplenty out there ... and as for cheap ...i've yet to see one myself too ....

looks like a pretty good deal to me, car well done up, condition looks like it was from a careful owner, plus it's a 325i, got some ummpphh. bring the car to a workshop for a check-up bro, rm100-200 cost is a small amount to pay relative to the rm80k tag price. i think the price can nego a bit. like wat others sed, u gotta be realistic when it comes to buying a 10 year old car, do set aside at least 5k in case of any unpleasant surprise. like what a sifu here once told me, the 1st owner paid a hefty few hundred grand to enjoy the udm, n u (me) only paying a fraction of dat to have d same joy, so don't complain too much when paying for the wear n tear. best is always ask for the service record to see what parts have been changed, a good and careful owner always keeps track of parts replaced. the exterior and interior mods help as u don't have to spend much on that later, but do be cautious as look can be deceiving. test drive with open eyes and ears, listen to any noise, be aware of any jerky gear change, if u satisfied with what u can see, feel n hear, bring the car to workshop for a proper diagnose and checking of the undercarriage to look for any sign of repair from major accident. for me, rule of thumb, as long as there is no major defect to part that will cost you a bomb like gearbox, no major accident, others are fairly tolerable as long as u satisfied that the previous owner did a periodic service and maintenance.

i'm lucky to have acquired a reasonably well maintained 2002 E46 a few months back. just need to change bushing etc which does not cost that much. all things well, i hope u have fat bonus to pay for that car's tyres once it worn out. gud luck bro!

Yeah Bro, I am also a new owner of a 2002 model myself. Have been driving for a month a so already. Please bring it to get it inspected and get some opinions from an expert. You need to set aside about 5-10K for just in case after you have acquired the car. Owning a used UDM which is 10 years old bound to have some wear and tear problems later. Good luck in your hunt. I have seen that ad in Mudah for like 2 months plus already. Previous owner has spent a lot to cosmetic upgrade full M3 kit.

hi xacpu ... PM sent... tq

Xacpu,

Herbert is very right. I just took a E46 year 2005. I have spent around 5k for initial service and repair on the wera and tear. You need to consider this amount as you have do all these repairs in order for u to confidentally bring the machine all over Malaysia.

thanks sifus and bros out there, the replies is very2 useful to me.. as i already see the car upfront, its really melt me down...but as for the engine (i really dont know much) it sounds good...i still reconsidering to have my first ride a Bimmer...dunno la still pening kepala thinking bout it, and actually the dealer not really helpful...haaihhhh...tunggu jadi tokey baru boleh pakai Bimmer(jealous)

Yes u can. Just call any of the authorised dealer.. start with AB. They will tell u. Tell them the truth, you will be the next owner for this car and need the service history. The important info u need from the SC is it's last service mileage, date or major break down or accident record.
