i drive freeze

I just own a 2006 525i M Sport. My idrive is giving problem such as radio coming on and off, i drive freeze. Please advice what is the problem? Where can i get it fixed. I'm in PJ area. Thanks in advance.

maybe you should try upgrading the software? Best time to do it cause you are already experiencing issues with it anyway I am scared to do mine cause my mech tells me 'if it ain't broken, don't tinker with it'

same here, exactly what my mechanic and another acquaintance who had worked with AB told me...

I don't know the direct source for this company/person. When I ask my mech and accessory shop, they will normally get on the line and ask someone. I would guess it's an outside job for them as well. BUT, I remember Affan telling us where he did his on one of his initial posts when he got his e60....

Upgrading the software was done at bmworld desa tun razak. Now new shop name can't remember.

hi Guys..first my radio signal was intermittent, then, i drive msg " phone module not installed", after that my cd changer rotation sound is heard during start up...now, my mech. removed some device the size of a internal hard disk (may be the ulf module).
Conclusion, the phone connection is permanently gone unless i change the unit with approx. cost RM3k.
Else. i drive is back to normal so far..as i just got it done today...

Question: should i seek second opinion like take the unit to check with other mech..or this is a common problem, the date in the ulf unit is 2004
Pls advice..

You had the exact problem i encounter when i got my car, its the bluetooth mechanism that failed and if you dont mind the bluetooth function, just ask them to plug out the module, and it will work again, i did not do enough research then and end up got chopped RM3100 for a whole new so-called CPU at the trunk.

Dont bother to repair it, get a new/used one at ebay if really need the bt function, its cheap with shipping.
