Help!Brake malfunction,harder to press.

Hi,Anyone experience sometime once we press the brake,we feel its hard and likely brake malfunction,then hard to stop the car.After running it slowly n without apply the brake its become normal.Rarely the problem comes again.FYI,my ride e46 318 2.0 2002 model.What's happen and defect component cause of this failure.Thanks in advance for any helps.

I don't think so as its just plain mechanical.

it's your brake servo or the one way valve is jam'ed...

Where is that one way valve located? I'm having the same problem and just want to make sure before I change my servo that it is my servo that leaks and not due to jammed one way valve

got brake oil? check that first.

on second thought, scrap the thought. If no oil, the pedal should be spongy or soft.

could be vacuum brake check valve.
