Help! 100 "Speed Monitoring" fault code on my E36 318

my gearbox facing this problem...2nd to 3rd gear engages intermittently, when it dun engage, it will rev till v high then gearbox light come out...shut off engine restart, warning light goes off.Is it the speed sensor or it is the clutch that is facing problem? Do i overhaul or get a 2nd hand gearbox? Whats the cost for either way?I am based in JB, so where do i go to either overhaul or buy a replacement gearbox?Please advise!

bro try flushing ur gear oil first......not just change the oil but including flushing....its more cheep n sve a lot of money.....in kl theres one wkshop at glenmarie...doing this flushing thing...all custermer r satisfied with the job done...

hi yat! I just flushed my gearbox and changed its filter about 10K km ago...went to more workshops to diagnose, seems like valve body is gone...something about not building enough pressure to engage the 3rd gear...

Now thinking of converting to manual gearbox...looking for parts now...whats the market price for the full set and also labour cost?

bro....only one in a milion the valve body kaput.....r u sure? well if not mistaken in kl it cost around 3k 4 the gb n labour around 1k......how ever gud luck bro....

actually i agree with you, quite unlikely the valve body kaput...most prob clutch plate worn or maybe even torque convertor got problem...dunno where to got gearbox specialist in jb...want to go open up and see inside and decide further...thanks for the info yat!

try change the gearbox speed sensor. its not the speedometer sensor but the one attached on top side of gb. goodluck.
