Stone chips are normal and unavoidable unless you park your car in your garage all the time. Then what's the point in owning a car if you don't drive it. Upon close inspection, you will surely find many stone chips all over.

get your lights protected with the plastic film, it would reduce the chance for scratches, it costs about 300

Given the road condition in Malaysia, your car will definitely become flawed (stone chip) over time.

Don't fret it buddy. A car that is scarred isn't a car especially in Malaysia. Lorries carrying anything can move around anytime, no height/weight regulations and worse, screwed up roads. Just a few hours back this dumb **** of a logistics trailer trailer from Tanjong Express drove fast on that 2 lane road towards SS2, hit a tree branch, swerved without caring for anyone, that tree branch snapped, shrapnels landed on my roof and now my car is going through touch ups.

See? could be worse right :p

Our roads are hazardous. Don't worry too much, just enjoy the car while you can. We will never know what is coming tomorrow.

did u put protector for your headlighs?

I have a protector for my headlights. Mostly to give the little bit of extra protection physically and mentally for me. So far the film works wonders and compared to the countless stone chips I have on my bumper and hood, the RM300 was well worth it.

Does anyone of ur f30's headlights get stonechip after drive few months?

Just get headlight protectors, try to get the thicker ones 40mil I think (about 1mm thick) if you drive fast or on highways.

I had them on my evo8 and I track the car. The bonnet, windscreen and bumper is full of stone chips but the headlights still look good. :stupid:

Better protect them, get venture shield or any other protection film. But beware, lower quality films may discolor. Do check with the installer on removal procedures.

But if the chip is minor, it should be able to be polished off leaving little scaring.

Replacement headlights can easily cost rm5k.

Just a note about polishing the headlights. Don't use a machine and a heavy cut compound. The BMW headlights have 1 extra layer of plastic on the surface of the headlight. If you cut past the first layer it would look ugly and you would have to sandpaper the whole headlight.

Bro, where did you get your headlights done? Does it dim the original lightings? can post some pic?

I believe there is a 3M shop in Subang that do Venture Shield for headlight, they have it pre-cut via a computer plotter and fit perfectly to F30 headlight. Not sure about the cost

I did mine at Eurotuner but as Alex mentioned, there are plenty of other shops which also provide that. A picture? Since the shield is clear, you can't tell any difference unless you feel it with your hands though..

I totally agree with dagemoth. When I track my car, everywhere is riddled with stone chips including a cracked windscreen but headlights not problems.

Thanks guys if you can PM me their contact number that would be much appreciated.
Thanks again.
