Gear probs.

any know what does this symptoms means.1.1st gear to 2nd gear the shift is quite rough, sort of like a jerk. 2.After a long drive i cant select any gear including reverse, but after a while after all has cool down i was back to normal(it will happen again and again after long drive)Which one do you guys recommend:1.Rebuilt my current gearbox2.Buy a used gearbox from chop-shopanyway im driving an E30 M20 325
