simon, long time no hear from U. where have you been?

regarding to your problem, it could be the backlight bulb burnt out for the LCD display.

Hey Jarance its good to see your reply buddy. I have been around, its just that I'm those silent reader because I know nuts about cars :p

Thanks for the advice, I just notice the N sign appears and when I switch it to D, 2 seconds later it disappears.

I'm puzzled.

Simonso I had the same issue and now my car already in workshop. Better check immediately as mine the symtom was same and at the end the Oil cooler for the Transmition kaput and oil already mixed with water in my water tank...what you can do now...open your expension tank and check the water ...if it's teh ais color you already too late...if not...better go and send to workshop for check...if already become teh ais..the damage in your wallet will be more for flushing....and part replacement..

This is interesting. I dont think the gear switch which is located outside gearbox would have anything to do with the ATF contamination.

Need to study more..

I also not sure why...as the error that I've got is:

1. 1st gear ratio error
2. 2st gear ratio error
2. 3st gear ratio error
4. Position Sensor A intermittant

Did asked Kenny last week, he said if the oil cooler faulty and water get into the gearbox..need to flush the oil and change the Gearbox switch sensor as the sensor might become faulty ..cannot get in touch with water..the sensor will shortcircuit.

might be gear position switch kaput..try replace it. around 500

maybe.. but simon car can still drive but no indication only at the instrument cluster. If gear position switch is kaput, the car most probably cannot engage gear.

Yes like mine..just Safe Mode

Hi simon,
i pun kena macam ni juga..sudah 2 kali i kena mcm ni..tp bila i cuba balik dalam 5jam. semua ok.

Hey Guys sorry I have been busy with works.

Anyway the indications is back to normal after i did a car service. Even though it doesn't link to anything but i also changed the panels on my driver side door. As a result, the airbag has to be taken out and the ECU is required for a reset.

While at it, the mechanics did a diagnostics and only found 2 errors with the car.
1. Airbag seat sensor going funky
2. The heater sensor is not functional.

Been driving hard around town for about 3 weeks after the problem, no signs or symptoms about the disappearance of the indication on my dashboard.

Another point, the car has no problem switching to other gears. Seems pretty smooth and i tried playing with the tip tronic, its awesome! heehe.

So should i refer to kshapawi and do those necessary checks? I guess there is no harm doing checks. I'll get right to it tomorrow.

Will update on the status.
