Hi miss. The 320 engine doesnt have a timing belt. I runs on a timing chain.

wow wow sound? can be due to worn diff ( got check oil or not ) or driveline issues. ( ie. worn centre bearing on prop shaft, guibo etc ) yes, bearing would be on my list too but u replaced that already.....

check those and revert with your solution.

E30 with timing chain???
Nik,

Only in JayBee, baby !!! Vladd is suffering from lack of sleep as usual. Teo, your E30 engine is still using a timing belt ... only post 95/96 E36 4 potters have engines with timing chains.

Cheers,

M20 is running on timing belts.

As for the wow wow sound, it can be your rear diff.

Where are you from? PJ, KL? or somewhere outside KL. Without knowing your location, how to recommend any mechanic to you which is close by to where u live / work???

teo, unless u have a transaxle, any sound from the rear shd not be ur gearbox. so thats the good news. but if u havent done so in a long time, id recommend u go get ur ATF changed, just for preventive maintenance.

like the others have said, could be the rear diff. also could be ur tires. have u checked ur rubber?

Hi! Guys, I had settled the problem of wow wow sound at my rear wheel. I had taken your guys advice and had a check on my tyres. The problem is resolved by changing the rear tyres. Hurray! :yahoo:

But sad to say that :( other problem comes. there's a warning signal 'inspection' appear at the dash board. I had asked my mechanic but he said 'tak ada apa' but the signal keeps appear. Have you guys come across this problem?

Another question. After taking over the car, I had serviced the car and the service warning sign was reset to full bar. Now the mileage is more than 5000 for about 3 months but the signal bar still at 3 green bars. Should I send my car for service? Is the signal bar can be trusted?
