Hello all. My fuel gauge shows inconsistent reading. Yesterday it showed less than half tank, but today it's showing more than a half. Is it normal after long distance driving or is it my gauge got problem? Thank u.

check the fuel sender first. The float could be sticky or the contact could have worn out.

thank u all. looks like there are many that cause the problem. will follow as advised and see what's the conclusion.

i had problem with the sensor going to "0" even with full tank. A look into the other forums confirmed the
float sensor problem. It was only one sensor but the mechanic decided to replace both. I suspect he changed the
wrong sensor and then replaced the right one later (idiot!!)
these fellas are designed to have 2 floats / sensors because the propeller shaft runs right through the fuel tank.
Ultimate!!
You can check this out by using your dashboard meter to check the fuel level in both tanks.
