Yesterday, after filling up at Projet (Sri Hartamas), I was driving along the Penchala link when I noticed out of a sudden the needle on the fuel gauge dropped to "0" and the warning light came on (as though indicating the tank is empty). After about 2 seconds, the needle shot back up to 1/1 (indicating the tank is full). Why is that? Is it a symptom of something failing?

If it was a one off incident, I would not worry about it. But if it gets more frequent, then start to worry. Same thing like my "BRAKE LIGHT FAILURE". Getting immune to it already. Probably another sensor on the way out?

from my limited knowledge on the technicality of the matter, the sensor is located within the fuel tank itself, right? and it is one hell of a job to replace it. Correct me if i am wrong

Talking of GHOSTS, had experienced sensor ghost today too with my babe... CHECK COOLANT LEVEL came up on the OBC. Checked the expansion tank... full. No problems with the cooling system. Checked the OBC again later... all OK. Hmmmm, glitches like this gives me the chills. And I am still in East Coast... away from my usual mechs.Does anyone know of any reputable BMW specialists in the East Coast?
