The brake pad wear warning light came on last Saturday.Had them replaced.Last pad change was in June 2003 and distance covered was 60,000kms.So how long do your pads last. The brand was & still is Jurid.Oh just for info. The caliper piston dust seal was partially dislodged on the LH front. So I took a chance and removed the piston totally and reassembled. The gamble paid off with nil leaks even after reusing the old main seal.German engineering at it's best.

difficult one cos it depends how you drive.......

just an example - my previous Plo.tong had still ori brake pads when i sold it after SEVEN years of ownership. ( it saw 2 track days, a few trips up hill resorts of Malaysia & 140K of mileage (KM) )

Dun even know what brand they were but they were okie for grip till the last day.

depends on whole bunch of stuff,

brake disc (drilled, cut - kind of cut, material)
brake pad compound
driving style
passenger you carry etc.

generally though, for continental cars fo the e34/28 type and weight figure a couple fo years and about 50K-70 kms is about right in our Malaysian driving environment with lost of traffic lights and people cutting in front of your all the time :aggressive:

Fronts typically wear 50% faster than rears.

then again good pads for the e34/e28 are only about 130 a pair so why worry:)
