F30 Leather Seat so Hard?

Why is the leather seat inside F30 is so hard? Would it get soft over time? And also at the rear seat the posture is so straight and does not recline, makes the passengers sitting 90 degree all the time....

I agree with you. I only noticed it when I changed over from a CKD model to a CBU model. I think the quality of leather is different. In my CBU model, the leather feels completely different

That's what my sales guy told me when I was comparing between the various version before purchase. Besides that the seats are wider and longer for better comfort.

I felt that it was softer, maybe the lighter coloured leather gave me the impression that it was softer.

Luxury seats are slightly more padded than Sport.
Other notes: Sport seats come with side bolster adjustment but luxury not.

It's both pros and cons. "Harder" type leather seat will have less crease or at least less prone to crease developed over time. I personally prefer harder type as I can't stand leather with creases all over like in the old perdana V6 used as airport limo.

Of course I do find applying conditioner will help to soften it a little though if that helps.

Since we r comparing, just like to add that BMW F30 Sport line leather seats r no firmer than the Merc W204 Elegance.

In fact, I think it's a tad softer..

It has to do with the support required for the seat occupant. Sports seats tend to have firmer seat cushions to provide better support during spirited driving and have bigger side bolsters.

i have to say the right word to describe the sports model seat is that they are more hugging. thus gives a little discomfort to some whom are not used to it.

as a matter of fact, the hardness of the cushion is no harder than the merc.

by the way, you guys gotta stop listening or believing any of the SA.. they will say anything to sell you the cars and and absolute anything to make you believe what your perception or waht you were told... am a salesman.. so.. you cant bullshit a bullshitter!

My front seats are making noise now whenever both top and bottom sides are rubbing against each other. I thought by using a leather care product it will minimize the sound but nope that ain't working.

Hmmm always had the impression Benz would have a softer touch on the leather seat being more luxury bias compare to BMW. Anyway, coming from E90 formerly (non M sport), I have to say the F30 sports seat is so much better in terms of comfort level. Kept the side bolster inflated to the level of kinda body hugging.
