Hi Guys, I'm thinking of upgrading my e90 in a couple of months time. So, the happy time of doing research starts now.. :DI am of course a big fan of the M Sport, which I currently drive one. Just can't decide if I should get the 3 series, which gives me the M Sport option or the bigger 520d. One of the weird thing is I do enjoy the Msport bucket seats which the 5 series won't have. Btw, can't afford the 528Msport at 400k.. The price between the 3 series M Sport vs 5 series is quite close.Hope to get some opinion from you guys :)Many thanks in advance!

Depends on your age and your needs I guess :p

I know some dads who still living it up and zooming around in a 3 series.

While others have given up their ricer ways and gotten something bigger as their kids have going into the teen years and wont like squeezing at the back :)

If its about transporting a large family, instead of 520d, can get the 320d M Sport and an Exora.

F10 is not that much bigger.

i agree with M, ive gone from e90->f30->f10 and the diff between f30 and f10 interior wise is not as significant unless compared to the e90.
if u want smtg nimbler the f30 is the one to go for.

The first time i walked into a BMW show room, i paid booking for an f10 520d, then i changed my booking and purchased an f30 M sport. I am glad i got the f30 instead, the reason is the f10 will be having a face lift model soon plus the f30 is quite large actualy, f30 M sport was launched recently while the f10 was launced a few years ago. My vote is go for the f30 M sport, if you must go for the f10 wait until october for the face lift version. Regards

well, i have a young family - 1 kiddo who is less than a year old, so I don't drive fast when they're in the car... but i drive alone most of the time and that's when I really enjoy driving the UDM!

however, it is actually the boot space in my current e90 that's killing me because once the stroller is in there together with all the baby stuff and luggage, I don't really have enough space. That got me thinking about the F10. The F30 M SPort does look good indeed. The F10 LCI is only due some time next year and there's no indication that it will come in in the beginning of the year.

For me, I would go with 520d instead of 320d M-Sport. Not to say that F30 is not good, but personally, F10 is more luxury, came with better idrive as compare to 320d (same as 320i= useless idrive). I'm not quite satisfy with F30 interior, especially the rear seat centre area.

A 328i GT will give you more space as an alternative option.

However, if you are looking for something sporty, then F30 M-sport is the right choice, but 328i M-sport is a better option with more features (since you can afford F10 520d).

I have a one year old toddler as well, the booth fits our stroller and bags so far, go for the 328i options

My advise to you is go for F10 if you plan to start a family. The F10 has a larger seating area, more comfortable suspension, better sound proofing, larger boot and a proper iDrive. This is based on my own experience when I was given a F10 loaner car. I regret that I did not go for the F10 earlier on. Now I have to wait for the next generation 5 series.

Another solution might be to fit the same length but go down one width, or fit to the larger foot and add an innersole inside the shoe of the smaller foot..
