Hello all,

Just checking if any of you have experience this with your F30.

I have a F30 328 M sport, have been experiencing sudden idrive rebooting by itself when I am driving since I have the car early this year, have had the dealer installed rear view camera and done a full software refresh ( full day work) but the rebooting condition still persist from time to time ( seems like at random).
Have had my car serviced recently and have ask for them to look into it, the dealer have again refreshed the software but still the condition is there..

The frequency of this is like 3 to 4 time a month and I just want to know if anyone is having the same issue and is this an inherent problem of our F30.

Thank you for your feed back.

Not have. The camera is BMW compliant I suppose?

The camera is BMW's genuine part for F30 offer by Ingress and the problem happens even before the installation and continue after the installation.

Sorry to hear that. I am however interested to find out more about the rear camera by BMW, any good, and value for the 4K plus cost?

I installed the rear view camera on my X3 20i lci last year at AB, glenmarie. It costs me ~rm5k but it was worth it especially when reversing. My wife really benefit from it. I think it cost 1/2 the price outside but you will lose the warranty related to your electronic parts if something happens

I have went back to BMW to ask for advise, and apparently some use do experienced the problem similar to mine, where the system will reboot on its own on random.
The service engineer did told me that sometime the culprit is the incompatibility of our phone system with the drive system.
So I have since reconfigured the system to only allow phone call and have un-tick the data connection in option.
The system have been running without any problem for 2 weeks now, fingers crossed.

I experienced the same issue. I updated the car's bluetooth software with the latest and it still happened.

I finally traced it to the number of contact information that was being synced to the car. I had in excess of 2,000 contact info. The system reboot itself during the initial sync.

I cleaned up my contacts list and the problem went away.
