engine vibration

hi guys, seek your advice, my car during cold starts vibrates and sounds like a motor boat, i've changed the spark plugs and coils, but no difference, the problem still persists, my mechanic now thinks it is the trottle body. Mine is the 325i model, appreciate your inputs.

Could be you have a leaking intake boot ... do check for vacuum leaks

I would say if you have a single carb that it would be the ignition system. check the plugs, and HT leads as these can fail over time so that along with the dirty carb would stop the engine and reduce the power. A good check is to remove the plug leads one at a time and see if there is any change to the vibration and the one that has no change is the problem.
