hi guy need your input, my engine sound like tek tek tek. what a problem and how can i avoid and is there any chance i can fix it
hope can hear you

Honestly, it is quite hard to explain it, unless you have a video recording with the sound so that the members here can hear it to give their opinions. It could be the brakes it could be other things as we were discussing it during yesterday's track day.

I had "tick tick" sound when driving too...but turned out to be a loose wheel bolt...can be anything actually.

sounds like lifter noise to me. try revving the engine, does the sound get louder? Did you service your car recently? If yes, could be the engine oil viscosity could be too thin.

is your e60 facelift model with N52 engines? if yes, that it is the tappet sound of the lifter. it is a known flaw with the engine, though a minor one. try lower viscosity engine oil like 5w30. it helps but could not solve the problem permanently. Reving the engine only solve it temporarily but will come back real fast.

live with it. the modern diesel engine or the twin power petrol engine also sound quite loud. :)

I think I know wat u mean by the tek tek sound. My e60 525i also the same. Go to mech the say engine valve area got problem. But if wanna fix had to overhaul. So they say leave it till the engine worn. if anyone got a better experience of solution. Pls help to advice. Thanks
