My car is due for an oil change. My current oil is Castrol SLX 0W-30 fully synthetic. Anyone tried the new fully synthetic ENEOS 0W-50?

Bro ,now I use ENEOS 10W-40 ,this grade not bad, for 0W-50 think better!!!

I think BMW's recommended oils do not exceed 40 weight in viscosity. As such, 0W-50 may not be optimum.

I think the range 0W-50 is a bit too wide. What's going to happen to the performance? Any idea?

i read alot of article online regarding motor oil viscosity, almost all mention 0W & 5W is meant for cold weather (freezing temperature) for faster startup & better flow. for our hot weather, the SAE rating (the second figure) should not be less than 40. hence, for summer weather, most of them recommend 10w-40 & 10w-50. any opinion on this?

the second number indicates the suitablity for hot-weather service..
the higher the number, the hotter weather / temperature it can handle..

if the number is just 40, its already exceed engine operating temperature..
