Engine conversion; M20B25 or M50B25

Thanks for this thread. Very useful info. Im also considering dumping the M20B25 to either the M50 ro M52B25. Given the info below, the M52 looks good (but cost may be a factor). plus also using an auto tranny...wonder if its doable or eveyone is using the manual option only? (sorry if Im hijacking this thread).

If u look at the figure, original E30 M20B25 engine weight is 117kg and upgrade to M50B25 only extra 19kg for the engine . Of cause when u do the conversion u need to upgrade ur suspension set up as well like bilstein B12 with thicker ARB and strut bar etc ..... Dont see any problem as ur specialist mentioned . If u afraid about weighting issue...... Go for M52 engine which is aluminium block which is only 1kg extra compared with M20B25 ...... Im using M20B25 as comparison cos this engine can be found at E30 chassis.

Hope this will clear some doubt for u .....
