Hi sifus,I have this problem when I step on my brakes, it affected my radio player. Not sure if there is any advise on this electrical issues. Is there a good workshop who is good in solving electrical problems for e39.

in what way..? if it makes unwanted sound on your speaker..check the cable under the carpet..had similar issue last time..the audio cable are routed below the heel pad..the cable was exposed and short circuited to the body..had to remove the seat for easier troubleshooting..and you will be surprised the amount of padding underneath..

do you get a pause (sudden lost of sound) every time you apply the brakes? I'm only second guessing since you weren't specific with the symptom.

There will be a no signal message on the stereo screen every time I step on the brake and when my right hand signal indicator is switched on. Also, my left side headlamp beam is sometimes working and sometimes not working. The angel eye and high beam is fine. So most of the time my beemer is one eye jack at night.

Finally! I've got the exact same issue in my E39. Have you solved it? Any help would be appreciated. Every time I depress brake or turn signal the stereo signal is lost or other things happen.

after reading those post..I remember that our brake light bulb is rated 21W if not mistaken..some shop sells 25W (same shape) but this bulb melts my third brake light bulb holder..
so I think, if the voltage dropped when you pressed the brake is too high (as in the link posted above) the resistance for the brake circuit must be high too..just some thought

I dont think the brake is connected to the electrical system directly. Its strange

of course not the hydraulic part..but the switch for the brake light is located at the pedal itself..
