Pack a few Hi pressure fuel pump with ur car. It is common to fail.

Cabutzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!

Yeah, together with brake pads, discs, and probably a set of tyres.

What's the problem with the fuel pump? How come it's a common failure?

Dun worry so much bro. Just get a unit and enjoy it.

For your infor, I have been driving mine (real hard too sometimes) for almost 5 months now and so far everything is running well. I dare to say it is much better than my previous CKD e90 325i. Build quality is much superior. Well... maybe it is too early to tell but as of this 5 months of ownership I can feel that it is better than the CKD e90 325i in terms of build quality.

you;ll forget about everything you read here once you stepped on that accelerator. =)

And then it'll all come back to you when the 'Engine Fault' alarm comes up, you stop the car, the locks fail, and you have to climb out the window. Jest kidding, jest kidding... :D

Don't vurrie DY...kamion has a sense of humour and will be joining the 335i ranks soon.

Thanks for the link, davidtch. I'll check it out and see if it's got the new HPFP installed. :)

Interesting.

Wonder how much the HPFP costs here? It's about SGD1300 all in according to the guys at BMW-SG.

My car drives fine after I had the warning last week, but I'm still cautious when I drive now, always looking out signs of another episode..sucks.

Supergripen, what i hear, the problem is lack of supplies of this pump in the market.

Wonder if there are any aftermarket solutions for the problem.. all those high horsepower 335s in the US,surely they have something? But then again this problem is quite well known there,if there are any other solutions,we'll probably know about it already..

I think it's quite a high precision part, and it's not easy to make an aftermarket part. Plus if one installs an aftermarket direct injection HPFP, then something goes wrong with the engine, I'm sure the manufacturer's warranty will be voided.

Apparently, the problem is the ethanol content in the fuel in the US. Wonder if Malaysian fuel also have the same problem with high ethanol content?
