Officially from www.realoem.com there are 3 battery. 70 ah, 80ah and 90ah. Therefore base on Malaysia battery size best is din 88 or din 100. Of course the din66 can use but might not last that long

Hi Guys,

I have a 2009 e90 325i LCI. Time to change batt and i see everywhere in this thread that it should be a din100...i call up Vincent, the guy that a few fellow foummers have recommended and he came and say din100 cannot fit and can only do din80. I am confused as hell cause no where here people say din 100 cannot fit.

And according to Vincent he say if my battery in centre can fit, but mine is on right hand side....

Can any sifu with the same experience or knowledge please enlighten and advise.

Tqvm

Hi Mike. You can used din85 but won't last long(Vincent also recommend) which can fit easily but the mechanic advised me to used din100 which take two person to fit cos is big n heavy n fit tightly.Took them almost half n hour to fit it.That the reason why your mechanic tell u can't fit the din100.

Do not forget to register the new battery in ECU to reset the charge cycle. There's a charge cycle program in our ECU to manage our battery charging. Charge load will reduce as the battery age to prevent over charging an aged battery to maximise battery life. So the date of installation and battery capacity is 2 critical parameter required by the ECU to regulate the charging efficiently.

People asked me what if they disconnect battery for some electrical works to be carried out and reconnect the battery. I then ask them does that change the age and capacity of the battery. If answer is no, then no need to re-register.

bro, how do I get the battery registered? can any bmw specialist workshop able to do it? what happens if we do not register? will it fry the ECU?

Wow..sounds complicated to change modern bmw's battery in proper procedure.

No need 2 person to carry the din100 my mech alone can change the din100 battery alone
