Does anyone know about any kit available for 325?Perhaps light pressure type or any aftermarket similar to the one on 335?Just wondering...poor man's 335. He! He! He!

I dont think its a good idea to turbocharge the N52.Magnesium block with aluminium liners, not exactly force induction material.

Please share what 335i is using for its block?! Try this.. I've been eying too.. coz they have kits for 4-potter N46 aluminum engine!!

Wonder to know, it's there any reseller/installer in malaysia or Singapore?

They visited Vision Auto in bangsar last year I believe marketing their Camry Super Charger.. that should be your closest lead. Good luck! don't forget to come back and poison us! :38:

Turbocharged gasoline 4s coming soon...

The next BMW 3 Series is expected to arrive for the 2012 model year. Its exterior is influenced by the F01 7 Series and especially the F10 5 Series..... The 2012 3 Series is expected to be powered by a new family of aluminum four-cylinder gasoline engines ranging from 135 to 220 horsepower. These will include new technologies such as variable intake and exhaust-valve timing, sequential turbochargers, and direct fuel injection. The 220 hp four-cylinder may be included in US-bound models and the N54 3.0L twin turbo I6 may be replaced by a 2.0-liter sequential-turbo I4 engine with almost equivalent output. There will also be a hybrid version which augments the transmission with two electric motors and expected fuel savings of 20 percent, a similar powertrain that will be found in the upcoming X5 hybrid, developed in a joint venture with GM, Chrysler, and Daimler. http://www.bmwcatalog.info/2010/12/bmw-f30-sixth-generation/

Turbocharged because of pressure from Audi?

I think it's more for emissions and fuel consumption although pressure from Audi and Mercedes is probably a big factor too. There's only so much you can do with a NA engine.

Should be more news filtering out about the new F30 engines in the Geneva Motorshow in March. All auto makers are moving in the emissions/energy conservation direction. Even Ferrari is expected to unveil a hybrid in Geneva!

Don't think its pressure from Audi, Merc or VW la.

No point adding horse power while cars grow bigger.. end of the day, it's all about power to weight ratio, carbon footprint and more importantly weight distribution.

FYI,contrary to popular belief, the N54 is actually based on the M54.Thus the block is aluminium with cast steel cylinder sleeves,so as to be able to withstand the effects of forced induction. It has no relations to the N52 which was built on very different properties and requirements.
The N54 is known to take over 450rwhp on stock internals...as far as I know la.

Any idea how much boost the N52 supercharger kit is pushing? Wonder how long the engine would last;)

I think the NA is nearing extinction. The straight six especially.
Coming to its extinction very soon. As soon as this summer cos the new 528 in the US is getting it with 4 pot turbo. And I think its the same engine to be fitted to F30 325.

I hope there will be a kit to keep up with trend. Don't need so much power but more torque and can I say efficiency? circa 250bhp / 350Nm. Not so ridiculous isn't it?
Temperature gauge is a must then.

Otherwise wait for 335 to drop price to 250+K

Btw. Could we be seeing the new 4 pot turbo in the last batches of E90 325???
Even next M3 / M5 will be turbocharged.

I think light pressure maybe can tahan. Need to keep up with Audi and C250 torque laa. H'way sure cannot play with them.
