Hi people,My car's warranty will expire today, exactly on the 13 Dec 2011.Just a few days ago, I think I must have went through some potholes.Ever since then, whenever I go on a bump or perhaps drive towards an incline hill, I heard weird noises from the front right suspension. My questions are;1) Is this going to cost a lot?2) Now that my warranty is over, what are my chances that I can fix it? Is this even claimable? Thanks

What kind of weird noises do you hear?

I always hear compression sound from my front suspension especially when it rains. When its dry, there is not sound so I don't think its an issue.

You need to tell us more.

Recently I had my abs top mounting changed under warranty when I complained about the "weird noises" - sounded more like moving/loose metal parts in my front suspension while going over humps and into potholes. The SC claimed that the mounting wore off faster due to our hotter climate in M'sia & the “weird noises” you hear is due to additional free play in the front suspension. Replacement of the mounting solved the problem and my front suspension is as firm as new.

Take a look if it is the same problem but like Hikaru said, there could be other underlining problems and a further description of the “weird noises” could help us help you better.

Exactly the noise is some sort of a compression sound. I've been driving around during the heavy rain as well.

Only problem is, my warranty expires today.

Is this serious?

compression sound is normal for all suspension with gas so nothing to worry about.
if you get squeeky noise and tuk tuk tuk type of sound then get it checked out.
warranty as in 2 yrs or 2 + 1 is goodwill warranty, if u r on your 3rd yr of ownership like me, can still get goodwill warranty but gotta apply case to case basis.

My 323i also has alot of suspension noises, it's been like that since it was afew months old and very crashy. Finally after 1.5 years it developed a sort of a "eaayk" noise when going over speed humps.

Hence after almost 2 years, they acknowledge that there is a problem a and changed the top mount. Now I get occassional noise only.... still not what I expect...

Sigh.... am very disappointed with the build quality of the car (mine's ckd) and the ability of the AB and Ingress to fix problems.... Plus it takes so long just to get approval to fix under warranty (took almost a week to get the top mount changed).

I also have a passenger side window that has a mind of it's own whether to go up or down when you press the switch lightly (ie not using the single click). Again this is a problem that has been around for about a year (and after complaining about it twice). Car is back in "hospital" for the next few days (hopefully) to fix this.
