Common problem (yet again!). If it doesn't recover by itself after turning off, your only hope is the workshop.Originally posted by cysoon@Aug 14 2005, 12:12 AM
Dear all,
Anyone had this encounter. Mine only 2 months old 525 E60 and 2k km, suddently I-drive hang and the whole screen black out and can not control everything. Please advise
It might still be fine if your car is under warranty, but what after warranty and the I-drive keeps hanging? Me still no trust cars which rely too much on electronics.Originally posted by Juan Powerblow@Aug 14 2005, 03:36 PM
I over-heard about this pwobwem on a new E60 when I visited Auto Bavaria Sg. Besi a year ago. To see this still happening is distressing!

I would have asked for a permanent fix; obviously the reset is not the solution.Originally posted by flash@Aug 14 2005, 10:18 PM
Forgot to mention, my co's E60 keeps having to go back to AB off and on just to reset the CD changer. Seems the CD changer hangs quite often and only AB can reset the damn thing.

While you are at AB, perhaps you can ask them why the CD changer keeps hanging. Perhaps the CD changer should be turned off before taking out the key? You know, something like shutting down your computer properly before pulling out the plug? :dunno:Originally posted by johnchen@Aug 15 2005, 05:01 PM
Now that you mention about the CD changer hanging, yes it has happened to mine a few times already! I will send it back to AB and ask them to do something about it.
Sorry to hear your sorrow. They make the service advisors of my distributor sound like saints!Originally posted by cysoon@Aug 15 2005, 10:59 PM
Guys,
Really pissed off with AB. You know what their reply. Okie just send back we will reset the programs. They told me they dont know the reason, they will try to reset. By the way my driver seat is really irritating from the day I get my car the car seat keep on giving me funny sound, I had complains more then 100 times it seem that they will not bother. I really regret getting this model. The service is TERIBLE.

women are not very susceptible to little glitches like seat noise..my mum couldn't hear her front suspension squeeking on her e46 & it was the control arms that went...
Is it CBU or CKD? BMW Malaysia has recently doggedly maintained that as long as there's a BMW badge, it has the same level of quality as if it's made in Germany though admitting the assembling process in Malaysia is more labour or manual intensive (as opposed to robotic). Personally, I think CKD still sucks! (in terms of E46). Hence, Mercedes' move towards SKD is a good step forwards.Originally posted by The Necessary@Aug 16 2005, 01:40 AM
Fuh,
I've been driving the car enthusiastically and hard for the last couple of weeks, and I haven't heard anything...
