dear sifus..i think my clutch is starting to wear off and seems like time to change is drawing near..tried sourcing for the kit locally but having difficulties finding it..would appreciate if sifus and org2 lame to share any 'lobang' or info on this matter..also does street perfomance clutch is recommended? is it really that hard or bearable? i normally drive my car on weekends..

Bro the usual bmw parts shop should be able to order the kit for you from germany i.e. stuttgart or bavauto

thanks bro for ur post..i did that but they quoted me for like rm3000 per kit..plus it's gonna take about 1 month to arrive..so i guess this will be my last option worse come to worst..huhu

hi silver bullet , i drive a bmw e46 316 manual 2001 make, and had changed the clutch disc in 2006 at Ab kuantan before .the reverse gear had gone stiff , and shifting gears was not smooth anymore , AB kuantan sourced it in from singapore , the set cost me rm 594 , minus the workmanship.its working fine until now, drive like gentlemen , avoid mcuh traffic and we'll be fine.Get in touch with Ms Shova , 095161666 , shova@autobavaria.com.my.
not many e46 manual out there on malaysian roads ,glad to know i have company.:)

hello badmd, thanks bro for sharing :)..rm 594 is very cheap! probably because urs is a 316 (very rare nice car)..i called up a friend of mine and he managed to get his friend who owns a big bmw workshop in s'pore to quote a set of LuK clutch kit for SGD 650..is it worth it? convert it to rm it costs around rm 1600..

btw bro, how much was the labour cost? my mech quoted for rm400..not including gear oil..

hi, labor cost was that much also ,including other wear and tear parts , .
in the long run its worth it and gives u a peace of mind , been driving it since then till now, defensive driving may give it longer life span.dont press on the pedal unnecessarily at traffic lights , uphills or stops.
i've stop sending to AB since i've moved from kuantan , the nearest now is AB melaka , but i send my to a local Bmw specialist here , so far so good.

yup i agree..normally i dont rev up too high before releasing the clutch..or even try balancing the car with the clutch and accelerator at a slope..tends to shorten the life of ur clutch..been driving manual for the past 10 years started with my mother's pajero..not sure how the previous owner drove my car tho..

1st u must find out is it the full clucth system that comes with clutch plate, pad and bearings. Meanwhile, how hard is the compression on that cluth , feeling like racing or just street performance. Warranty as well, it is important due to inproper installation will spoiled the new cluth. Its better to find out more on the suggested brand and prices before u intend to change.

when i say clutch kit, of course it contains all of the above mentioned as well as necessary parts for complete replacement..are u driving a manual perry? would be good if can share ur experience..thanks

for performance clutch..i've already cosidered 2 brands: ACT and Exedy..however tried calling up both official distributors but they don't carry for e46 330ci..again need to order..same if source from S'pore need to order..i don't mind ordering if it's worth the money, but afraid it's gonna be too stiff..it would be value for money tho IF the car to be supercharged in the future..i know a lot of sifus has done this before, please advise can the stock clutch take the power or should change to performance clutch once and for all..

p/s: would be good if can test drive somebody's ride with performance clutch installed..

good stuff there bro Beemer :top: ..imho, seems like UUC has the best combination between street and performance..it is quite expensive tho, around USD 1k++ per kit..not including tax, shipping etc.
