E46 Japan Spec

Good day guys.On behalf of my friend. He has just bought a E46 unreg recond car. Its a Japan spec. Due to this, we were cruising one day, and we found out that the car was tuned based on JDM's specification. It has Speed Cut. We can't go more than 180 km/hr.Is there any way to remove the Speed Cut. Is there any RSM meter that can do that? RSM meter for continential cars? Or is there any other method we can do it?Or maybe, if there anyone beside Cartrade can do it.Please advice.tks.

Dont think they do have the speed cut, 318i is not easy to go beyond 180km. lah. Try again see if u can touch 190km

mine touched 180km/h++ tat day on my 18"...ori rim was 15"

so i assumed it is about 200km/h+


but i feel there is still ohmmm to go ....

Well,my 318i can reach 190kmh ! It'll reach not more than 200kmh only when the highway is going down a hill..Mine is only 17inch rim ! But hv changed the K&N air filter..Only a bit hp increase ! Anything can upgrade the hp?

the K&N drop in just increase 1-2 HP...


change the whole intake hose

but it also change the sound of ur engine

i seldom drive so fast

as long as it can crush at 160km

One of my friend actually have the same problem. He went to a local BMW mechanic to change the programe of the car, now it can go beyond 180.

for any beemer to go 170km/h i think really sap sap sui.it depends on the high way length and the cc of the car le.

mine is a japan spec 320,i tried to push it in KLIA at the speed of 210km/h and still going.. so i don't think there's speed cut for beemers

Well, wasn't the previous PM pushing for Proton to be the ASIAN BMW....???? Though I don't foresee that coming anytime at all. God forbid.

Hye flash..I think ur car can for sure go above 180kmh lor..Urs 320i maa..Mine is only 318i..Just this morning,i drove til 180kmh constant..Reached 190kmh but the fuel is extremely decrease..Hate that 30cents !!! Arghhhhh !!!

Btw 'leakwoon',what do u mean by change the whole intake hose?How many hp will increase? I want my 318i to hv a good acceleration !!! Any idea guys?

mine is a 318 2000 jap specs... not a 320 so pushin 200km would b tough. i would b dissappointed if i cant push 200km as previous audi a4 could....
