1. It is the NAV map that is not available yet in Msia, nothing to do with the TV. You can still play the TV wat. Or better still get some bypass module to play the TV/movie while on motion. Just need to spend only.

2. Nothing so fancy that the locals can't handle! It is just speakers wat, nothing to do w your TV. Any shop can just replace it for you.

Yeah, u can always try Tehnichi for start.

How bout shops that can just replace the speakers and install an AMP? I got an AMP and speaker set lying wanting to install but dunno who to go to...I heard Technici is quite expensive..

Pay for it, man! You are driving a BMW not some Proton. You dont want a RM50 jobbie from the backyard boys and screw up your electronics. You want proper professionals who have the experience in continental cars.

It's all depend on your personal budget. Stick to it. but must warn you once you go thru the dark side, forever it will dominate your future.

There's a lot of good installer out there, Im sure most of the sifu here can attest, you can try CN Audio in Sek 9 Shah Alam (Kelvin), KF Audio in Jalan Ipoh (Imad), CV Audio in Damansara Uptown (Peter), KK Lau in SS3 (himself) or ACP also in SS3 (Ah Bee).

Most of them are friendly enough and will dive right into your own type of preference sound and the budget you have in mind.

Expensive? Nah. Just a perception and rumour started by non Tehnichised people. It's just like saying that Obermaier is expensive. I must say that this two outfits have generated so much goodwill with their customers that people begin to associate them with luxury pricing but more often than not, they are really quote cheap. No harm just popping by for a chat with Simon. No commitments. If I were you, I will go talk to a few reputable installers before spending any $$. Money is money no matter the amount is.

I must qualify that my meat may be your poison so it is largely up to the individual taste. Like I sampled this RM20K+ system done by a reputable installer in Subang yesterday and it's no where near the RM4.5K install the other shop did. Ask Nelson30 for his opinion.

Actually you can buy a module which plugs into your ori equipment which enables you to activate the AUX port for DVD as well as watch TV/DVD when the car is in motion (i.e. bypass the safety shut-off feature). I recall Obermaier installing it in a few cars. Check with them but I doubt that they carry stock. The device is something like the one Skycon posted. Check with Chester.

What's "full m3 specs", BTW?

Try KL Auto Accessories, off Jln Tun Razak. Behind Vistana Hotel, I think. The boss there (what's his name...), good chap.

Try Tehnichi Audio if you are an audiophile.
hey guys..sorry..new to mods and bimmers...
where is Tehnichi Audio?....thanx!

Hi,

I just bought a brit spec 323ci with the tv/satnav. I am also looking around to buy a dvd/cd changer to watch dvds in the car. I was told that the tv module is to enable continous display even while the car is in motion. it also adds on some functionality such as channel control form the steering wheel. I was told that the tv module isn't necessary unless you wanna watch movies while driving which is highly not recommended if you are like me (I get distracted by tv screens).

I am also scouting around for a compatible dvd/cd changer which is not overly picey (motorsports in d'sara perdana quoted rm4k to 5k) but I was told by some ppl that you can get it done for RM2k to 3k. The main thing that I am worried about is that the installation might mess up the super sensitive electronics. Anybody who has succesfully added a dvd player to a brit spec tv/nav module? Please share your experience and point us noobies in the right direction. Thanks!

Hi,

Just to update you guys, I have gotten a quote for a compatible dvd/cd changer for that works with the tv/satnav. They say it'll cost circa RM2500 for the dvd changer inclusive of installation.

Cheers!

Is CN auto good installing e46s?

Most of this installers have build-up their own goodwill in the ICE circle judging from discussion/TT and chat I have with IASCA forummers and it's not a case of pasang paid and done. These installers have been known to attend to your request even after they've completed their sales long ago.
Here's my 2 cents
I've been going to all this shops without real preference to anyone of them as bottom line the best price will seal the deal for me as quality wise(observation), most of the one I mention (as myself and friends have been frequenting them) are comparable. But once you go to certain detail things, you will notice that this shop is better than that in certain areas. Eg. one shop is really good in Fiber work where the other might be really good in the A-Pillar workmanship. But this is quite nit picking really based on item per itenm or certain job and it will take you longer time to complete your grail as compared to settling to one shop and crunching the set-up and numbers you have to pay when completed.
As for me I took the longer road, one by one, buying certain goods new and used. The important thing, your own taste and the sound you're looking for (one man meat is another man poison). Don't just go for brand and price (although it helps based on the reputation, R&D, reviews etc), a cheap set-up can still sound good if all the ingredients are there and most importantly IF YOU ARE HAPPY WITH IT. No point of spending thousands isn't it if the results are not to your liking.
The quest for utopia (hehehe borrowed from my speakers) is never ending one as all the sifus here can atest. Me being a beginer also got scared and miff with all the jargon, EQ lah, passive/active and all other sort. Home system is easier me think. But just this parting shot.. any amount you spend (rightly) on the upgrades, you will not regret it..
Cheers

yoke,
to add:
Any amount you spend, will never be enough once you are in the ICE seen. So BEWARE!!!! HHAHAHAHAH (evil laugh)
