Hi Cifus,I just bot an E46 a month ago. The radiator water decreases very much. I checked with BM Auto garage, they did pressure check and confirmed the radiator and water pump is leaking. I have changed the radiator, water pump, thermostat and some of the pipes (cost me RM 2200). After running around 1500km, I had to top up around 550ml of water to get the radiator needle at ideal position. Can anyone advise me is this normal? Im servicing my beemer in BM Auto Garage in Permas Jaya, Johor. Any comments about this workshop. Thanks,GOp

If there is no leakage then most likely that they didn't bleed properly ...

hey, you're from jb too?

try checking for leakage at the spare tank.

i had the same preoblem. but its just a small crack at the neck near the radiator cap.

change the whole thing cost me only around 100-200.

cant remember how much anymore.

Guys,

After the top up I ran about 700km and checked the water level in radiator tank, it ws ok. My mech did pressure test again and we found everything in good shape. Thanks for the help.

JC@: Yes I'm from JB.Where ru from?

Jarance: My mech did not change all the pipes as some of it is still in good condition. Thanks alot for the cooling system overview diagram.

Based on my personal experience with BMW, if one of the parts start to leak, the other pipes and hoses will start to fail one after the other. hence it is better to change all as they are of the same material and exposes to the same hot water.

JLV 1717: Bro, I agree with u. BM Auto garage is good at troubleshooting and advising on what to repair when problem occurs. Sanjeev and manjeev are very friendly as a person and proffessional in handling beemer. Their workmanship and prices are good as well. Quite satisfied with their service.

Vinesmaran: Where to check the TT thread, Im quite new here. Please notify me when any gathering or meetings are arranged in JB.

Jarance: Thanks alot for the advice. I will check on all the hoses and pipes again. Between, I have paid the membership fee on 30 Sept 2011 and will fax the registration form and bank slip on 3 Oct 2011. Quite excited to be an official member and I plan to attend the annual dinner as well. Heeeeee...
