Hi all,Just recently realized my ride is vibrating when driving above 80 km/h. Am not sure if it's normal. Been to Optimum & Ah Fai advised to do balancing & checked that shaft coupling & all are still OK.Just did alignment & balancing @ MPS Auto Sunway but still the problem persist.Anyone can advise?

Are you running on original rims meant for E46?

take the car back to MPS and ask them to check again for you .... i believe MPS is one of the best tyre shop around and been pretty good in their troubleshooting ....

All your arm, tie-rod, bush ok? Can check wheel bearing also (if got sound).

i having this problem since i bought my car also.
1) control arm. (symptom, steering will vibrate)
2) long shaft coupling, flexi disc--> i dunno what this call. basically is the center hub that hold the long shaft. (symptom, touch the place at ur handbrake, or rear seat , you will feel vibration.)
3) rim bent or tyre.

End up i change all the above mention item. And now no more vibration.

i'm running on original 17" m-sport rims. MPS had done on&off wheel balancing & confirmed all is OK. rear rim was bent but has been repaired. so seems like the culprit now may be the long shaft coupling. going to recheck with Optimum. control arm confirmed to be OK as just recently checked & replaced the bushing.

Just an update on my situation. Was diagnosed with long shaft issue and replacement with used one from chop shop will be less than RM700. Diagnose was done by K&S Auto Subang, which handles plenty of UDMs. Going over to M-Speed this weekend to get a second opinion.

I had the same vibration issue before..replaced the guibo or aka long shaft coupling and solved the prob..is your long shaft bent bro?

And it could be the uneven thread of your rear tyres too..

I think it might be bent bro. Any idea what causes it? 'Coz there was once where it was vibrating so badly that the whole dashboard is rattling. The last I checked with Optimum the guibo is OK.

Serviced the drive shaft and replaced the bush but problem still exist. Mech suggest to replace the tires as last resort. Tires are 2 years old btw.

wing....like you said earlier, get a second/third opinion first. hold your horses till you find the real problem. If it is really the long shaft, replace that and determine if the vibration problem is solved.

For the long shaft you can get a quote from chan used parts (puchong) 0122928706

Sent for checking in Bomin this morning. They took the whole long shaft out and examine. Long shaft coupling and guibo is still in good condition hence didn't replace. Only did some servicing and replace the bush which costs RM75.

I'm not sure who should I approach anymore as Bomin is already the 3rd mech I approached. Prolly should try M-Speed or WP Auto?

Try swapping yr front nd rear tyres (if not a staggered set up rims)...i did that n found the culprit were the rear tyres..that solved the issue. Give it a try
