E39 Rear power window. Where to get cheaper OEM parts.

Just got my 2001 bimmer...tat car still in rock solid...however one rear power window kaput...original quote price from stuttgart cost 1260....anyone can help get me a second hand one...or can guide where to get OEM made or taiwan made...i dont mind...I stay in KL...

Bro, welcome to the forum and most important of all, you're an E39 kaki!

If you don't mind chop-shop items, eg at Kepong area, plenty of chop-shops there.

If you want my 0.02, I would definitely stay away from Taiwan made stuff due to reliability issues in the future. You might end up spending more time and $$ to fix it again and again.

Rear power window RM1260?

When u wind up the window, do u hear the motor sound? If yes, that's the lifter problem only which out from the position and u still can salvage it. Get a mechanic to check.

I have changed my rear e39 rear right power window regulator. I bought from chop shop cost me more than RM300. I forget which chop shop that i bought. After that i DIY to change the part. Some of owner member here are also good in DIY change some parts. 1 of them is Haywire.................hehehehehehe

does ur DSC light come out as well ? If that is the case, it's confirm the ABS unit kong. Look at my post on ABS service if you need to repair. But if you can source 2nd hand, it's about RM 1400.

wound down my rear left window yesterday and it refused to wind up again going to Optimum later today to get it fixed.

My one is ASC and new one is RM1450. hehehehehehe

Just go to chop shop and buy the regulator. Is less than RM400 then u can diy urself.

Have problem with both rear Window...Naidu solve the problem today..You should try Naidu in KWSP PJ. He service the motor and both working fine...

Sorry for no reply so late...gone overseas for few weeks..by the way..hav ask stuttgard to get a used one but yet they havent got one..also quote me price for used one also need 500+...but anyway the dealer will cover the charge..have asked to fix the new one but dealer say help him a bit and anyway I'm ok as long as the window can move up and down...so basically I also dun mind the taiwan made...but where to get one?

Taiwan lifter is abit lagging or i can say not smooth compare to the ori one, i have them in my rear left.

Then buy the half cut power window regulator around RM300 to RM400
