E39 Erratic Fuel Gauge

I've be having this issue lately where the fuel gauge is going crazy, Please see the video, Could this be a Float issue, Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I've got the same problem as well but never actually looked into it. Good for you to bring the issue up! For me, it'll be erratic only when it's low on fuel. When it's topped up, rock steady and no problem at all. The range meter like in your video will also increase and decrease very erratically. My best guess is the fuel sender connected to the fuel pump. Maybe connection kacau a bit especially when low.

Tom328 its very frustrating, especially when you don't know how much fuel left, might open up the fuel pump and check over the weekend,

me too.. I have confirmed it is the fuel sender. Was suggest to replace fuel pump too

My fuel pump is fairly new 1 year old only. Suspect the fuel sender sensor

i faced the same problem when my speed gauge stopped working previously. no idea how both are related. got my abs module changed, speed gauge issue settled. the fuel indicator issue also settled.

Yeah doesn't make sense, but your issue seems settled weird
